Georgia Southern University recently recognized more than 2,700 students for excellence in academics on the Fall 2016 semester Dean's List. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

Georgia State University's Perimeter College students were recently inducted into Alpha Beta Gamma (ABG), the international honors society for business students.

The Zera-Allen Scholarships Endowment was originally established in 1998 by Angela Z. and Samuel E. Allen. In 2012, the fund was split equally to provide current student support through two scholarships, the Zera-Allen Scholarship, and the Zera-Allen Global Partners MBA Scholarship. The Global Partners MBA recipients must be in good academic standing in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, or have applied to the MBA Program and demonstrated a potential for academic success.

The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to approximately 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students during the Institute's 251st Commencement exercises.

This award was established to honor Mrs. Byrdine F. Lewis for whom the Georgia State University School of Nursing was named in 2003. Throughout her nursing career, Mrs. Lewis exemplified a dedication to clinical practice and quality patient care. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate nursing students who have a strong academic record and who are committed to clinical practice in a hospital setting.

Congratulations to the newest group of Georgia State Alumni! Over the summer, Georgia State conferred degrees to over 1,600 students.

The Steve Winick Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior student who shows outstanding talent on a brass instruments and performs in at least two School of Music instrumental ensembles.

The Montgomery Music Scholarship is awarded to students in the School of Music. The scholarship was established in 1985 by Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Montgomery.

Georgia Southern University recently held its annual spring commencement ceremonies for graduate and undergraduate students at Hanner Fieldhouse and Allen E. Paulson Stadium. University President Brooks A. Keel, Ph.D., conferred more than 3,300 graduate and undergraduate degrees during two separate ceremonies to accommodate the graduating classes.

Valdosta State University has announced the names of those Spring 2015 students who earned Dean's List status. Students who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional grade point average of 3.00 or higher are recognized by being placed on the Dean's List. Developmental studies, transients, and graduate students are not eligible for Dean's List status.

Membership in Sigma Theta Tau is an honor conferred on students in baccalaureate and graduate programs who have demonstrated excellence in their nursing programs.
